Thermafleece Sheeps Wool (100mm x 600mm x 1200mm)
Produced in the UK, sheepswool batts natural insulation come in a range of sizes. They are sustainable, safe and have a high insulation valve (k = 0.039 w/mk) and excellent moisture control without loss of thermal efficiency. They have low embodied energy and are not toxic or irritating in use.
Why Use Natural Thermal Insulation?
Buildings account for around 50% of UK energy use and up to 46% of CO2 emissions. It is therefore essential to improve the energy efficiency of new buildings and to improve the insulation standards within existing buildings. Natural insulations can be at least as efficient as conventional insulations, but have the added advantages of being:

If you currently have no loft insulation and you install the recommended 270mm depth you could save around £110 a year on your heating bills and nearly 1 tonne of CO2 per year.
The following table gives approximate costs, savings and paybacks for loft insulation, when upgrading from 0mm or 50mm roof insulation to 270mm insulation:
| Loft insulation (From 0mm to 270mm) |
Loft insulation (From 50mm to 270mm) |
|
| Annual saving per year (£) | £110 | £30 |
| Installed cost (£) | Around £500 | Around £500 |
| Installed payback | Around 4 years | Around 16 years |
| DIY cost | From £250 | Around £180 |
| DIY payback | From 2 years | Around 6 years |
| CO2 saving per year | Around 1 tonne | 250kg |
If everyone in the UK topped up their loft insulation to 270mm, £380m would be saved each year. That's enough money to pay the annual fuel bills of over 400,000 families.
